COVID-19 Safety Plan

In order to reopen VMCS to in-person instruction, we had to have our new COVID-19 Safety Plan approved by the Orange County Health Care Agency. They provided feedback, and some modifications were made. As of March 1, 2021, we have reopened to in-person instruction. We are grateful to have our scholars and staff back with us for five full days of instruction each week, as well as provide a distance learning option for families who are electing to wait until the 2021-2022 school year. Continue to take care and be part of the solution!

Morning Gathering

Screening of Scholars on Campus

As GOALS continues to provide supervised support on campus at our Vibrant Minds Distance Learning Center, we want to clearly communicate when scholars should remain at home or will be sent home. Each morning, the following screening needs to take place. If any of the questions are answered in the affirmative, then the child needs to remain home. Keeping our VM Distance Learning Center open will take a community effort. This same effort will be needed when we reopen our school for instruction.

  • Temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher when taken by mouth
  • Sore throat
  • New uncontrolled cough that causes difficult breathing (for scholars with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)
  • Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain
  • New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever
  • Had close contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes) with a person with confirmed COVID-19

The following charts in English and Spanish developed by the Orange County Health Care Agency will guide us as we respond to illnesses among our scholars.

FEATURED PROJECTS AND PERFORMANCES

Our group of sixth graders were the only elementary school in attendance at the Anaheim Union High School District's Solo/Ensemble Festival. The adjudicator rated them with a superior. We are proud of our scholars and grateful to the siblings, parents, and relatives who attended. We also had an opportunity to reconnect with a number of our graduates who were performing at this event.
This video was part of our Back-to-School Night event prior to the classroom presentations. Enjoy!

What Our Families Are Saying!

"Project-based learning is how we feed out minds. We walked in as students and walked out as scholars." Mayra Velazquez

"A place where your children will find their strengths and will learn to empower themselves." Silvia Favela

"We can't say enough good things about our school! They are true to their mission of developing interests into strengths by offering a wide variety of opportunities for every scholar, both in the regular school day and in the after-school program. Our girls have explored a number of musical instruments, cooking, sewing, coding, woodworking, dance, gymnastics, and vocal performance, just to name a few. And they have embraced a growth mindset as they learn how to tackle projects independently and as part of a team."  Alyssa Truman

"I am pleased with the entire staff and their genuine concern with my grandson's academic growth. Thank you!"

"I absolutely love this school. Thank you, Vibrant Minds Charter School!"

"I love this school, wonderful teachers, and staff that give the best care and kindness to my kids. Dr. Schroeder is the best director I have ever encountered. She is warm, kind, and loving and creates a safe and happy environment for everyone."
