Home/School Handbook 2020-2021

HOME/SCHOOL HANDBOOK

Our Home/School Handbook represents a commitment to establishing an authentic and effective partnership between the families and staff members of Vibrant Minds Charter School. Our partnership will be stronger when we communicate clearly with each other. You are encouraged to skim through the entire handbook since it includes information that we must provide to you by law, as well as information that is unique to VMCS. Some of the legal information may sound unnecessary, or even alarming. Remember, we are required to share this information with you, even if we never need to act upon it. The handbook should be referenced throughout the school year to address any questions you may have. We have arranged the information alphabetically, rather than by order of importance, to make it easier to access specific topics. Of course, if the handbook does not address your questions sufficiently, please talk with your child’s teacher or the school’s assistant director or director. We are here to serve and to ensure we are “A School Families Love!”

What Our Families Are Saying!

"Project-based learning is how we feed out minds. We walked in as students and walked out as scholars." Mayra Velazquez

"A place where your children will find their strengths and will learn to empower themselves." Silvia Favela

"We can't say enough good things about our school! They are true to their mission of developing interests into strengths by offering a wide variety of opportunities for every scholar, both in the regular school day and in the after-school program. Our girls have explored a number of musical instruments, cooking, sewing, coding, woodworking, dance, gymnastics, and vocal performance, just to name a few. And they have embraced a growth mindset as they learn how to tackle projects independently and as part of a team."  Alyssa Truman

"I am pleased with the entire staff and their genuine concern with my grandson's academic growth. Thank you!"

"I absolutely love this school. Thank you, Vibrant Minds Charter School!"

"I love this school, wonderful teachers, and staff that give the best care and kindness to my kids. Dr. Schroeder is the best director I have ever encountered. She is warm, kind, and loving and creates a safe and happy environment for everyone."
