WHAT IS A CHARTER SCHOOL?
Vibrant Minds Charter School (VMCS) is a public school that is authorized by the Anaheim Elementary School District, but it operates independently from the district. In essence, VMCS is both a school and a district. This permits our charter school to have greater autonomy to serve scholars in a way that matches the vision established by the school’s families and staff. For this reason, the home-school partnership becomes even more meaningful as the school’s educational program is developed and refined. In exchange for operational freedom and flexibility, a charter school is held to a higher standard, and the scholars are expected to demonstrate strong academic growth as measured by California’s assessment system.
Unlike a private school, a charter school is tuition free since it receives state funding based upon a formula for each scholar enrolled in the school. To learn more about charter schools, click here.
